Meet Emily!
Hey Friend!
I’m Emily Fuentes, a wife and mama of four kids! My husband, Vicente and I started our family living in the city, both working busy schedules. I was a night shift RN and my husband a new engineer.
After almost 5 years as an RN I got fired for not getting the covid vaccine and I started questioning a lot and started pursuing even more of a natural lifestyle.
After we went down to one income, we started thinking outside the box in order to get the life we wanted. We realized we loved having my home with the kids, we realized we wanted to get away from the big city and live in a home that had more opportunity for our kids to be outside and just focus on being kids and exploring life!
We ended up making a big move that changed out lifestyle and we bought a quant little home in a rural town a couple hours from where we were living. We went from two working parents in the city to living on a little homestead in a rural town on 1/4 acre. The goal- to simplify and get back to our roots, living a slower paced life and being present with our kids!
We dove right into learning a life of self sufficiency, starting with baking and cooking from scratch. We got a flock of chickens, put in a woods stove, planted our first mini garden last year, canned a few things from our backyard, and I am bringing you along on our journey as we learn all the homesteading things! The more I learn, the more I share with you and I am excited to be connected here in this space!
